Registration for the 2019 TOSA Youth Tri is now open

Registration is now open for Friends of Hoyt Park & Pool’s fourth annual TOSA Youth Tri on Saturday, Aug. 24.  Up to 225 competitors ages 9 to 15 will have the opportunity to show their athletic abilities in a safe and fun setting.
Registration is $40, which includes a required one-year USA Triathlon membership. Register today because the price goes up to $50 after Friday, Aug. 2. 

Volunteers Needed

Putting on an event like this would not be possible without the support of volunteers.  If you would like to help out and support these fantastic youth athletes, we’d love to have you on board.  Volunteering is fun, it’s easy and it’s a great way to experience the activity.  There are a variety of assignments to be filled so just click on the button below to learn about all the opportunities and sign up.

The Wauwatosa Recreation Department is offering a class to help prepare participants for the swim portion of the TOSA Youth Tri.

This class will work on building endurance and speed. Timed swims at each class will check for improvement. Register at https://www.wauwatosa.k12.wi.us/tosarec

Race recap 2018

We were pleased to host about 200 young athletes on Aug. 25, 2018, for our third-annual TOSA Youth Tri, with swimming in TOSA Pool, biking on the Menomonee River Parkway and running along the Oak Leaf Trail and in Hoyt Park.
Thanks to all our TOSA Youth Tri families for participating and to the volunteers who helped make the event a success.

Swimming: TOSA Pool at Hoyt Park’s outdoor 25-yard pool

Biking: Menomonee River Parkway, which will be closed to traffic

Running: Oak Leaf Trail and surrounding Hoyt Park lot. The course is subject to change at the discretion of the race director due to weather.

Rules

  • The athlete, the athletes’ bike helmet and a guardian must be present at the time of bike drop off (between noon and 8pm on Friday August 23rd) – NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Every child must have a parent or guardian over the age of 21 at the event.
  • Bike helmets are required during the biking portion.
  • Bike pick-up cannot occur until the last athlete is through the transition (which will be approximately 11:15 am)
  • Race will be held rain or shine, but thunder, lightning or heavy rain could cancel the event. There are no refunds.
  • The TOSA Youth Tri is USA Triathlon sanctioned. All USA Triathlon rules apply.
