Help restore Hoyt Park’s natural habitat at this new weed-out event, targeting garlic mustard. Volunteers will meet at The Landing. Bags will be provided, but please bring gloves.
Garlic mustard is a very invasive weed in our parks. Garlic mustard is a biennial; it has a two-year life cycle. The seeds germinate in April. The roots exude a chemical that is inhibit other plants from growing, and it can grow in full sun or full shade, making it a threat to a wide variety of our native plants and habitats.
