Schedule of Events

The fun begins at 8:00 a.m. on August 26, 2017 at TOSA Pool at Hoyt Park. Detailed schedule information will be emailed to participants at a later date.

Packet Pickup and Bike / Helmet Drop-off

Packet Pickup and Bike (with helmet) Drop-off is Friday, August 25, from Noon to 8:00 p.m. in the Grand Hall at TOSA Pool at Hoyt Park, 1800 N Swan Blvd.

A parent or guardian with photo ID must be present at Packet Pickup to sign a liability waiver form. Athletes cannot pick up packets for others.


Children ages 9 - 15 (as determined by their age as of December 31, 2017 per USA Triathlon rules)


Children can choose between two distances, depending on their abilities.

Swim 100 yards 200 yards
Bike 2 miles 4 miles
Run 0.62 mile 1.25 miles

    TOSA Pool at Hoyt Park’s outdoor 25-yard pool 

Biking:            Menomonee River Parkway, which will be closed to traffic 

Running:        Oak Leaf Trail and surrounding Hoyt Park lot The course is subject to change based on the discretion of the race director due to weather.

FUN, all ages - arrive at 7:45am

CHALLENGE, 12,13,14,15 year olds - arrive at 8:45am

CHALLENGE, 9, 10, 11 year olds - arrive at 9:30am

$40 per registrant through Friday, August 4th.

$50 per registrant after Friday, August 4th. Registration closes on Thursday, August 24th.

All competitors receive a t-shirt, goody bag, refreshments, and a one-year USA Triathlon membership.

  • Parking will be available at Hoyt Park lot in addition to 91st St., 90th St. and Hoyt Park Drive, North of Menomonee River Parkway.

Important FAQ for Participants


  • The TOSA Youth Tri will be limited to the first 200 entries.
  • Every child must have a parent or guardian over the age of 21 at the event.
  • Bike helmets are required during the biking portion.
  • Rain or shine. Thunder, lightning or heavy rain could cancel the event.
  • No refunds allowed.
  • The TOSA Youth Tri is USA Triathlon sanctioned. All USA Triathlon rules apply.

Swim Clinic

In conjunction with TOSA Pool, the Wauwatosa Recreation Department is offering a class to help prepare participants for the swim portion of the TOSA Youth Tri, being held on August 26th at Hoyt Park. For the race, participants will choose to swim either a 100-yard (FUN) or 200-yard (CHALLENGE) for time. In this class, work on building endurance and speed. Timed swims at each class will check for improvement. $25 fee.

Would you like to help kids try a tri? Would you like your logo to be seen by hundreds of parents of youth and tweens? Become a sponsor of the TOSA Youth Tri!  We accept donations of all sizes, but all donors of $250 or more will have their logo on this website and on banners on race day. All donors of $500 or more will have their logo printed on the back of our competitor t-shirt.  Donations must be received by Friday, Aug. 11 to be included on apparel.

Proceeds from the TOSA Youth Tri benefit Friends of Hoyt Park & Pool, a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.
